Network the remedial builder, were engaged for the following destructive investigation project
The building is a 6 storey residential unit development - finished a few years ago. Steel work requires an FRL. The architectural plans stated that fire ratings were as specified in the engineering plans. However, the engineers scope of works was only to design steel work and assume fire ratings by others. Further destructive investigations revealed wide ranging non compliances in that spraying was undertaken after the wall sheets were in place. Final structural certification certified adequacy of structure only. The bracing/hydrant main passes through a lightweight wall that might be Hebel, fire rated or non fire rated gyrock that separate the fire isolated stair from a non sprinklered carpark (no wall system will comply).
