Network the remedial builder have been called in to rectify the planter box issues before extending over at Bankstown RSL Club.
The existing concrete slab has reinforcement proud of the existing concrete slab "low cover"
Concrete cover refers to insufficient distance between the surface of the concrete & the reinforcement.
Causes of this works seems to be improper care in placing or tieing the reinforcement steel.
The major issue with the above, the concrete cover is suppose to offer protection from environmental effects preventing corrosion which leads to concrete spalling & or concrete spalling.
The Network remedial team have scanned the concrete slab to confirm lack of depth locations, so a structural engineer can provide a remedial plan of action.
